Twenty-Plus Set Rooms, Included in Your Tier

Most people decide two things before a night at a Macau sauna: what time to arrive, and which massage to take. The room is the third thing, and it is usually the one nobody thinks about.

East Castle Spa is one of three houses in Macau built around themed set rooms, and it carries the widest range of the three. The part guests rarely arrive knowing: these rooms are not a paid extra. Whichever massage tier you take, the whole floor of scenes comes with it.

The venue is on the Macau peninsula, third floor of Casa Real Hotel. It is open 24 hours. Therapists are on shift from 15:00 to 06:00.

The thirty seconds nobody plans

You soak, you steam, you change into a clean robe and walk to the room floor. Up to here, the evening has gone exactly the way you pictured it before you left.

Then there is a door. The moment it closes behind you is the moment the night actually starts — whether you are lying in a seat facing a sea of cloud or inside a set of ring ropes is decided right there.

Some guests reach that door and realise they never chose. Others have it settled before the car pulls up. Both work; the second is simply easier on you.

Four of the twenty-odd, in detail

The airplane cabin is the quietest room in the house. The ceiling curves in along a light strip, there are overhead bins, one wall carries a porthole looking out over cloud, and the leather seat lies fully flat. Once you are down, the air conditioning is the only thing you can hear.

The boxing ring is the other extreme. A wine-red leather bed sits inside a cage and ring ropes, a circular light channel and a ring lamp hang overhead, and the wall carries a speed bag and gloves. It is the strongest colour on the floor, and it matches the palette of the venue itself.

The lamp pushes the light straight down, and once you are in the middle of the bed nothing from the corridor side reaches you.

The classroom is the bright end of the range: a blackboard, long wooden tables, teak wainscoting, and lighting whiter than anywhere else on the floor. If you want a room that does not feel like a night venue, this is the shortest route to one.

The hospital room is a bed and a curtain. Pull the curtain and the space shrinks to the width of the bed, and whatever is happening outside it stops being your business.

The rest of the names sit on the same floor: prison, interrogation room, ambulance, coach bus, restaurant, office, golf course, car wash, and a gym with a dumbbell rack and a mirrored wall. How to choose, and when to say it

Choosing does not need to be complicated. For quiet, go toward the airplane cabin or the hospital room. For colour and weight, the boxing ring. For a room that feels like daytime, the classroom or the office.

There are two moments to say it. Tell us when you book and we write your preference into the arrangements for that night; or change your mind on the floor after you have changed, and say it then.

Can we promise that exact room on that exact night? No. Availability is what it is on the night. Saying it early simply gives us the chance to work in that direction.

One thing that is often misread: the 60 or 90 minutes on the menu starts when the therapist begins in the room. Reception, the changing room and the bath area are not counted against it. The order of the evening is set out on Your Visit.

The money: the room is not on the bill

This is the simplest part of the whole thing. A set room is not a separately priced item. You pay for the massage tier, and the room travels with the tier.

Every figure in that table is the all-in one. It is made of a base of MOP 2,288 – 3,688 plus a guest gratuity fixed by band, MOP 800 – 3,000. The gratuity is compulsory: pick a colour band and that amount is due to the therapist, ordered and settled with the massage, which is why it is already counted in the numbers above.

Can I request a particular room?

Yes — mention it when you book. Whether it lands on that exact room depends on the night, and we will work in that direction as far as we can.

If I arrive late at night, can I still have a massage?

The venue is open 24 hours. Therapists are on shift from 15:00 to 06:00, and massage service follows that shift. Further detail sits on Ask.

Can I stay the night?

Yes, staying overnight is possible. There is no free private rest room at the venue, and where you rest depends on how the floor is arranged that day.

Back to the door

What you remember afterwards is rarely how long the session ran. It is what the room looked like once the door closed. That is why the house built a whole floor of sets, and why it does not charge you separately for them.
