Golden Week 2026: Book Early, and Name the Room

For most of the year, walking into a Macau spa and asking for a particular room is a request that gets granted. During National Day golden week, 1 to 7 October 2026, it becomes a question of timing: the city fills, the evening slots go first, and the room you had in mind is either held for you or gone.

That is the one thing worth deciding early at East Castle Spa (東方皇堡水療), on the third floor of the Casa Real Hotel at 1118 Avenida do Dr. Rodrigo Rodrigues in NAPE. The venue describes itself as having more than 20 scenario rooms, which sounds like plenty until seven days of holiday traffic arrive at once. Say early, and say which one.

The week at a glance

Two of the five nights of the 34th Macao International Fireworks Display Contest fall inside the holiday, with displays at 21:00 and 21:40 from the waters facing Macau Tower. The organiser, fireworks.macaotourism.gov.mo, notes the schedule may change and its latest announcement governs.

Naming the room is the whole trick

Six rooms are photographed — airplane cabin, boxing ring, classroom, clinic, hospital and gym — and the venue also names a prison, an interrogation room, an ambulance, a coach bus, a restaurant, an office, a golf course and a car wash. Look through them on the scenario rooms page or in the venue photos, then send a first and second choice. A named pair is far easier to hold than “something interesting”.

Two buffers in your favour

The first is the clock, and it is two separate facts. As of August 2026 the venue is open 24 hours, while therapists are on shift from 15:00 until 06:00 the following morning. The crush sits in the early evening; the hours after midnight are quieter and still inside the shift. If your group is flexible, the late window is the easiest booking of the week.

The second is the road. On 1 and 4 October the fireworks end at the same moment for everyone, and the taxi rank near the waterfront stops being a rank. What the week costs

The holiday changes nothing on the board. As of August 2026 the minimum spend to change and enter is MOP 1,728, and it is not a ticket: it already covers one full-body massage and the food and drink inside, from steak and seafood to fried rice, noodle soup and milk tea. Spirits and wine are charged separately. Overnight brings free sleeping space and a free lounge area; a private rest room is a paid extra, worth asking about early in a week like this.

Also as of August 2026, every figure on the massage menu is a menu price, with a 10% service charge and a 5% tourism tax added on top rather than baked in. The board in the venue is the last word, and current details can be confirmed when you book. Golden week is not a week to improvise. Decide the room while the choice is still yours, and the crowded city outside stays outside. East Castle Spa holds what it has been asked to hold; the asking is the part that happens now.
